Ringing in the ears can develop in any of the following areas: the external side of the ear, the center ear, the inner ear, or due to problems in the brain. In some people the symptoms of tinnitus include head noise, which is normal. We are usually not conscious of these tinnitus sounds, because outside noise covers them.
